Empire is a start-up company from the man behind Findaband (New Zealand’s leading live entertainment agency). With Empire, my client wanted to create a sister business with which to expand into the wider field of entertainment rather than just focusing on bands.
This was my first big freelance project, and I was solely responsible for the brand identity, visual look & feel, website design, front-end build and photographic direction for the entire project. I worked closely with my client to discover how the brand should convey itself to customers, and over time developed a style and visual language to encompass the new company.
As this is one of the few projects that I built myself, the front-end is extremely robust. I tested my code carefully and made sure that not a pixel was out of place. Extra care was taken creating the logic for the all-important search bar — ensuring that the fields flowed smoothly and could be manipulated easily and as the user would expect.
Another crucial part of the project that I designed and built the front-end for was the login area where the talent (bands, singers, comedians, etc.) could create their profiles and upload images, song lists, videos and more.
